This is a collection of my design work as a staff member of The Muse, the newsmagazine of Dreyfoos School of the Arts.
"Nuclear Power" - Infographic

Jan. 2023 Since seventh grade, I have been researching nuclear weapons and their history (the Manhattan Project). This infographic is a product of my research, including a quote from Manhattan Project veteran Dr. Dieter Gruen.
​
I used Procreate to hand-draw the different images and write the calligraphy of the titles. I created the pie chart and pulled some images from online.
​
This infographic received a Scholastic Gold Key in Design.
"Into the Metaverse" - Infographic​
​
Jan. 2022 I was doing research on the Metaverse for an Informative Speech for Speech & Debate, so I decided to use some of the information I collected to make an infographic. This was my first experience using Adobe PhotoShop, but I experimented with different features (ie. glowing effects). The title and human graphic were both hand-drawn on Procreate.
This infographic received a Scholastic Silver Key in Design.

"Andrew Ross" Spread​

Sept. 2022 I designed this 4-page spread (first 2 pages shown) for a feature I wrote on artist Andrew Ross. I did the calligraphy using Procreate, using pink as an accent color throughout the spread to complement the featured photo.

This was printed in the Fall 2022 issue of The Muse.
"Floods, Termites, Time Capsules" - Spread

May 2022 I was the designer assigned to a story about the history of our school's oldest building. After a series of drafts, we settled on an old school yearbook look. The yellowed pages in the background were pulled from real archive documents of the building plans.

"Still Undefeated" - Spread

Dec. 2021 For this spread, I mostly wanted to highlight the great environmental photography. Thus, I used a minimalist design with accent colors from the photos themselves.

"There's Nothing Wrong with Red Pandas" - Graphic

Apr. 2022 I drew this graphic using Procreate for a movie review of Turning Red (dir. Domee Shi). I incorporated the article title into the graphic, accenting it with Chinese-style motifs.
